The Wayzata School Board needs balance. It needs to become a forum where viewpoints are respected, ideas are debated, data is studied, and ineffective methods are challenged. I have spent more than a year closely listening to parents, teachers and taxpayers share their questions, ideas and concerns about Wayzata School District. This is what I'm hearing the most, and what I'm eager to advocate for:

  • An Academics First approach to decision-making.

  • Reversing lockdown-related learning losses.

  • Protecting childhood innocence.

  • Mental health awareness and solutions.

  • Board transparency, accountability and increased public access.

  • Family and community involvement.

  • Civil discourse, open dialogue.

  • School safety.

  • Politically neutral classrooms.

  • Innovative thinking to meet state standards while honoring parental expectations and authority.
